Video Samples of Today's Yamahas

Image
I previously wrote about designing and building my own grand piano using a Yamaha keyboard as the base for the keyboard and sound. In that blog entry, I wrote about designing my own piano around a Yamaha digital piano but I didn't provide any samples to back up my claims. Below, are two short videos which I find to be excellent examples of today's Yamaha digital pianos.  The first is a video of classical pianist, Dominic Piers Smith, performing and providing some of his thoughts about Yamaha's current digital pianos. The second video features a beautiful and moving performance by pop singer Susan Albers. Both videos are impressive and certainly showcase today's Yamaha digital piano.

Our Annual Train Show Weekend

Our annual extended weekend in Springfield for the biggest train show in the US is fast approaching so I was reviewing some of my video clips and photos from past shows to see if I can find some stuff to share to build some anticipation for the show. My videos and photos  of these shows now   have been published on multiple websites and have hundreds of thousands of views! While I was scrolling through my own videos as well as other people's videos of past shows on YouTube, I found one which I thought was interesting and worth sharing here... Check out the two people he decided to interview at the 2:00 minute mark... We're really looking forward to this long weekend with friends. My health has proven to sometimes crash while at this show but we always have a great time regardless. I just take

A Rainy Computer Maintenance Day

I bought a couple of "My Passport" external drives a few days ago so I could backup all my years and years of files and photos. I had these files strewn across numerous external drives and I recently started to have problems with one of these drives. It was time to upgrade. These 2 terabyte "My Passport" drives arrived a few days ago... I immediately started copying all the files from all these drives... then, yesterday, I backed up this new drive onto a second "My Passport" drive.  This morning, I randomly checked the drives to ensure everything copied accurately... it all looked good. Then came the scary part... deleting files on my computer which I had already backed-up redundantly on these two new drives.  This process of deleting took much more time than I had anticipated but it resulted in freeing up about 75% of my desktop computer's hard drive. After freeing up all this disk space, I ran a registry cleaner to tie up all the lose ends
