An Almost-Forgotten Christmas Gift

Image
Just before bedtime last night, I was looking at Kenzie's dollhouse townhouse... at first, the new window box on one of the third floor windows had my attention and I was thinking, "That looks really nice... it will look really nice when I get the remaining four window boxes mounted after Christmas." Then my attention moved downward to the first floor and patio french doors I fixed yesterday (Kenzie broke off part of the mullion grill on Christmas morning last year and I just got around to fixing it yesterday along with a few other parts that broke over the past year). I was thinking that the repair wasn't even noticeable. That was looking nice too! Then I noticed the empty patio right outside those french doors and was thinking, "I really need to do something about some furniture or something for that patio"... "Hey wait... didn't I order a tree to put on that patio?" Yes, I already ordered a tree and had hidden it in a different place t

Pre-Christmas Playing

Image
Kenzie's big townhouse dollhouse was perched on our living room coffee table last night so she jumped right into playing with her dollhouse family. It is always fun watching her expressions as she plays... especially through a dollhouse window... Gee played with Kenzie and her dollhouse too!  Interesting place to move the little girl's bedroom... I'm thinking Kenzie wants a room with a view! As Kenzie and Gee played with the dollhouse, Lukey took everyone's order for dinner and then made our pizza's as requested! Kenzie was cleaning floors in her dollhouse in preparation of the Christmas holiday fast approaching... And the gifts spread out under and around the tree seem to continue to grow a little bit each day... Christmas is getting close!

Christmas Spirit is Growing

Image
It is getting more and more crowded under our tree with each passing day!  We actually finished our Christmas shopping a looonnnnngggg time ago (at least a month ago) but we seem to be collecting more and more presents each day.   Our Christmas Spirit is growing with each present that is added under the tree and we're all looking forward to Christmas morning with anticipation and excitement. I know Lukey and Kenzie will have a magical Christmas... and there are a few nice gifts under the tree for Sheila as well! You see those 3d glasses on the stack of presents to the left?  That is a stack of presents wrapped in 3d "Frozen" wrapping paper...  "Elsa, Anna and Olaf" are jumping off the gifts!

Christmas on Church Street 2016

Image
Our schedule is pretty full between Thanksgiving weekend and the end of January this holiday season. We had planned to head to Church Street in Burlington yesterday for our annual Christmas celebration in Burlington but I wasn't feeling my best in the morning so we cancelled... then I fell asleep for a few hours... I took some extra medications... showered... and I was feeling a bit better so we decided to head up that way much later than we usually do. We got there in time for a very late mid-afternoon lunch at Vermont Pub & Brewery. Lunch was delicious... the beer was delicious (geez... how I wish all micro-brews were as good as their's)... so Sheila and I had a nice time.  Vermont Pub & Brewery is quite behind schedule with their Christmas decorating. They were decorating while we were there which gave us something to watch and laugh about occasionally! Maybe they'll have finished decorating this tree this afternoon. As darkness fell upon Burlington, w

Thanksgiving Day

Image
We had a really nice Thanksgiving Day... relatively quiet... with some friends we haven't seen in quite some time... it was warm in the house... while it was snowing outside like it was Christmastime.  Liza spent the morning with us watching the Thanksgiving Day parade. This parade should be renamed "The Parade of Balloons and Commercials" because they no longer show any of the parade... only the balloons. They do show some quick acts from current Broadway plays but that is not the parade. Anyway... we watched most of the 'parade' with Liza. After Liza left, Sheila's sister and her two children stopped by for a little while and that was a nice surprise.  Not only was the weather rather Christmas-like but our home looked like Christmas as well.  Every year, when it came time to go cut Christmas trees, we always felt it was a tremendous waste of resources and that we were being selfish and wasteful just so we could go out and pay $35 to cut down a tre

Decorating Inside Too

Image
As I had written previously, we spent the day outdoors decorating the house and yard for Christmas. It looks great out there! The only thing which can make it look better is some fresh snow. After finishing decorating outdoors, we headed indoors and continued since we already had all the storage bins of decorations out and open. Now, the inside of the house is looking pretty nice too!
