Change of Thanksgiving Plans

Image
W e ended up changing plans for our Thanksgiving day for various reasons all more than likely related to my history of bad luck on past Thanksgivings.  This day has always been my least favorite day of the year and today was a great example of why I feel this way. First, at some point when I started to prep for our Thanksgiving dinner, I realized that I forgot to set a calendar alarm to remind me to remove the turkey breast from the freezer on Tuesday.  That meant that our turkey breast was still in the freezer and frozen solid.  After a few choice words flew from my mouth, I moved the turkey breast to the fridge and quickly accepted the fact that our traditional Thanksgiving dinner was now moved to Saturday.  I don't even like turkey so I'm not sure why I continue to make this particular meal.   Then, we received a weather alert...  A snowstorm was approaching and would begin sometime Thanksgiving night.  This meant that I would need to head outside to prepare for significant

Out To Lunch With The Kids

Image
After our journey to Burlington International Airport with the grandchildren, our stomachs were grumbling so we took the kids out to lunch at 'The Windjammer'. As always, our food was delicious and even the kids enjoyed their meals!   (...which is sometimes hard to do at a restaurant.) These two toddlers were very well behaved and were all smiles the entire time which made it a carefree lunch. Actually, these two kids are almost always all smiles so this lunch meal was no different than any other time.   Anyway, as you can see in the photos, the kids enjoyed lunch! In the interest of working on Lukey's fine motor skills, I played a little game with him trying to get the crayons to stand on end. He persevered and succeeded. Lukey was pretty happy with himself to get all the crayons standing on end... We couldn't convince Kenzie that this blue cloth was a linen napkin and not some sort of kerchief... A porthole mirror... ...a phone call from

Dessert

The kids came over for dinner last night... and they thought the name of our dinner was a bit amusing... shish-ka-bob . Of course, any name with "Bob" in it is hilarious to Lukey! Since learning the word "buoy" at the lake and seeing plenty of buoys, he's been chanting "bob-bob-buoy". (Howard Stern would find this amusing!) After dinner, the kids had a little dessert and I shot some photos. For this post, here is a series of photos of Kenzie... (Not to worry... photos of Lukey will follow in the next blog post.) "I'm not too sure about this gooey stuff..." "...I guess this isn't too bad..." "Hey, Gee... I'm a'tellin ya... it needs some M&M's..." "Now we're talking..." a little of this one... a little of that one... "Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... soooo goooood..."
