Getting There Slowly But Surely

Our outdoor shower project is coming along slowly but surely.  I am almost finished at this point.  I only have some touch-ups to do and some finishing touches.  I definitely wish this project moved along much more quickly though!

As you can see in this first photo, I have stained all of the wood and added a roof and lighting.  Don't mind the rest of the back of the house.  That room just beyond the outdoor shower will be our last big project, inside and out.  There will be a set of French doors and a window and then I will add siding the match the rest of the house.  In the meantime, this outdoor shower is looking good and is helping to block that view of the one unfinished corner of the house.

Inside, this shower enclosure is rather spacious!  Actually, this is quite a bit nicer than our current bathroom!

These two shelves were added yesterday...

I installed the bench this morning...

The wet area under this bench was from when I was connecting hoses to the black iron pipe.  Those connections are under this bench.  The wet area in the shower was from when we tested the shower.

Two major improvements added today were these lights as well as adding a roof.  Both of these things made it seem more finished immediately.

I added handles to the outside and inside of the door...

I have all the stone path finished.  This stone pathway is not only for the outdoor shower but it also leads to our shed.  I plan to put down grass seed tomorrow after I mow the lawn.  Grass growing between all the stones helps to keep them in place and it looks much nicer.  Before this project, this area was a very low area of the backyard.  I raised it up at least six inches.

These last two photos show the two small solar panels for powering the two lights.  It is really nice not needing to run electricity to this structure...

So, I still need to mount some hooks in the dressing area.  I have some touch-ups to do with stain.  I want to repaint all the black iron pipe.  Eventually, I plan to mount a small propane water heater on the other side of the dressing area wall so we won't be adding an unnecessary demand on our home water heater.  That will be a project for later in the summer or next summer season.

This project is looking good!
