In Quarantine Again

Sheila was tested for COVID-19 again this morning so I suppose that means we are both in quarantine until we get word on her test results.   She is feeling kind of lousy...  mostly symptoms in her sinuses and nose...  although she has watery, itchy eyes and fatigue as well.  It is possible she has a cold or allergies but we thought getting tested was the wisest idea because she was exposed to the public at the hospital a few days ago for one of her regular cancer checkups.  Other than that, we really have not been exposed to anyone in the past few days.  We've only been at home as we should be during a worldwide pandemic.   Anyway, now we wait for test results.  I suppose I will need a test as well if she tests positive.  My bet is that she is suffering from some far worsened allergies.  It is better to be safe and responsible so we'll sit tight while we wait for her test results...

The Lingering Cold Is Now Behind Me... I Hope!

I've been fighting a cold for months. With my health as poor as it is, a cold can be a major health risk and problem. In January, I developed a typical winter cold. It lingered through to mid-April before abruptly worsening significantly. When this cold worsened, my nose was running like a waterfall... constantly. My eyes were irritated to the point of mildly burning. After a few days and a lot of cold medications, this runny nose turned into a constant post-nasal drip... or flow. This caused me to lose my voice and I started a bit of coughing. I was having great difficulty breathing and was wondering if maybe I was developing pneumonia. Subsequently, my energy level plummeted to the lowest of lows.  After two weeks of these significantly worsened cold symptoms and months of lingering cold symptoms, I think I am just about back to "normal"... as "normal" as I could be with Systemic Mastocytosis and extensive spinal injuries anyway. Funny thing is that the

A Little Birthday Party, but...

...one little one was not feeling too well. We knew Kenzie had a cold because of her perpetual runny nose but it was painfully obvious she had a bit of a headache too. Photos always seem to reveal all. In this case, it was easy to see that Kenzie was dealing with a painfully annoying headache too. Her usual bubbly, smiley demeanor was hidden behind squinted eyes like she was Clint Eastwood staring down a dirty villain at high noon. Her little girl personality was hidden behind a seemingly permanent scowl. Upon viewing the photos from my little birthday celebration, it was obvious Kenzie had a headache and wasn't feeling herself. She had no desire to play on the boats with Lukey. She was a bit clingy and just wanted to be held. Her nose continued to run like a babbling brook all evening long. She did, however, get excited and a bit bubbly when she found her baby doll in the toy-box and subsequently carried her baby doll around most of the evening.  Unfortunately, that s
