Scattered Thoughts . . .

L ukey and Kenzie's birthday is just a couple of weeks after Ellie and Gee's birthday so it is more like a birthday month! We picked up Lukey and Kenzie from their dad's house (he lives very near us while Liza lives an hour away so we saved her a couple of hours of traveling) and we spent the afternoon with them before we headed to Sarducci's for their usual birthday dinner.  There were no presents this year other than this nice meal since they will be joining us on our upcoming cross-country Amtrak journey.  We had to talk about clothes, packing and measure them for clothes so it was good we had some time to spend with them before heading to Sarducci's.   This annual birthday dinner at Sarducci's is always nice though!   We picked up Pop on the way to the restaurant... Last week, we had dinner at Sarducci's in Montpelier for Lukey and Kenzie's birthday.  Sheila and I have not been going out to restaurants all that often but we do enjoy our occasional meals at Sarducci's.  Sarducci's is near the halfway point between Liza and John's house and our house so we chose Sarducci's for Lukey and Kenzie's birthday dinner again this year.   Kenzie and Lukey opened their birthday presents at the table before dinner... Kenzie is running a 5K again this year in June with Gee so she has been running regularly after school.  She wanted a fitness tracker to keep track of her running and, I suppose, to keep her motivated to run.  She video chats with Gee almost every evening and they compare notes on their running that day... E arlier this past week, we went out to dinner for Lukey and Kenzie's birthday.  Gee wanted to treat them to a dinner on their birthday so we headed to Sarducci's.  The kids had chosen a different restaurant but that restaurant was closed.  Gee and Papa preferred to go to Sarducci's anyway so we treated everyone to a nice meal at one of our favorite restaurants. Due to the ongoing pandemic, it was a bit on a quiet side at Sarducci's which was fine by us.  Going out into public is something Gee and I have been avoiding at all cost for the past two years but we all very recently had the virus so, at the moment, our immunity is likely on the high end which allowed us to feel a bit more comfortable visiting a restaurant during an ongoing pandemic.  If we all hadn't just gotten over the virus, Gee and I probably would not have gone out into the infected world.   As always, I had a couple of cameras with me.  This time around, I even had a Fuji Instant ...
