A Floating Party

Image
We had a really nice time with friends this weekend! We knew we were heading to Tom and Karen's for a floating party and we knew it would be hot in the sun so I prepared my health by loading up on extra medications in the preceding days. Fortunately, that worked fairly well. My biggest problem was fighting overwhelming fatigue... I could not keep my eyes open! Overall, however, I have no complaints. It was a really nice weekend spent with Sheila and friends. We had missed Tom and Karen's wedding last month because my health wouldn't cooperate so it was nice to be able to spend some time with them this weekend. Plus, this was our first opportunity to be  able to give them their wedding gift... finally! Their wedding gift had been sitting on our mantle in our living since June. The weather was quite warm on Saturday and, as many readers here already know, typically I do not do well in any environments warmer than about 80 degrees. Tom and Karen's backyard on That

A Small Birthday Party

Yesterday, we went to Nan and Pop's house to celebrate Lukey and Kenzie's fourth birthday! The weather was great and e veryone had a good time, especially the birthday kids. Here is a very quick edit of a very short video I threw together... some photos will follow soon... PS... Kenzie's CBA has been repaired and is now operational (Candle-Blowing Actuator).

Independence Day Party

We had a very busy Saturday... first, we went to lunch for a little 'going-away' meal with Adam... then we headed to the airport to say goodbye to Adam (I'll write about this another time and add some photos)... then we went to a really nice Independence Day party at Tom and Karen's house. By the time we were heading to the party, I was exhausted and my health was teetering on being quite lousy. My health has been bordering on poor since a little incident at the lake that simply took far too much out of me and I'm still trying to recover. Fortunately, I was loaded up on extra medications throughout the time at the lake house and even more so once my health deteriorated so I am in much better shape than had I not pre-medicated.   When we arrived at Tom and Karen's on Saturday evening, I planted my exhausted mind and body in a chair and stayed there. Even socializing required more energy than I had that night.  Sheila and I just sat and enjoyed the company
