Christmas Ornaments in Medium Format

Image
A fter my previous blog entry where I was complaining about a crappy Olympus camera sensor and sensor format, I decided to shoot a few photos of some of our Christmas ornaments in a much larger sensor format...  645 medium format with a classic medium format manual lens.   These images look great!  I did nothing with these images other than some very mild sharpening before resizing them down to web-sized images in contrast to the images in the previous blog entry that required hours of processing.   Shooting these images was incredibly simple and yet they look great!

This Year's Christmas Tree

Image
S ometime last night, I realized that I had not yet captured any photographs of our Christmas tree and ornaments this year.  I figured I should jump on that since I won't have any time between now and Christmas so, if I don't do it now, then Christmas will have passed by the time I can get to it again. We (mostly "I") feel like the tree is missing something and I actually feel the same way every year with every Christmas tree even after adding a little more to it each year but I've had difficulty figuring out what still might be missing.  I'm not a fan of most types of garland and I definitely hate tinsel so I know it is not missing these things.  It is possible it needs more ornaments in the way of more styles of decorative glass ornaments.  Our Christmas tree will most definitely never have items/characters from movies so that is out.  I'm not a fan of 'crafty' or 'country' type stuff either.  Maybe I'll figure out what is missing one...

Decorating Inside Too

Image
As I had written previously, we spent the day outdoors decorating the house and yard for Christmas. It looks great out there! The only thing which can make it look better is some fresh snow. After finishing decorating outdoors, we headed indoors and continued since we already had all the storage bins of decorations out and open. Now, the inside of the house is looking pretty nice too!
