Lukey and Kenzie are both a part of the band at school and last night was their spring concert so we headed out to Cabot last night for a bit of middle school culture. This was Kenzie's first time singing lead vocals in front of a crowd and she did well considering it was her first time.
Lukey already had another previous concert under his belt (their winter concert) before Kenzie joined the band so he moved around from instrument to instrument on stage during the performances. I think he prefers drums but he spent time at the keyboard in addition to rocking a tambourine and singing lead vocals.
It was a fun night for all of us! There is a short video at the bottom of this blog entry with a few short clips of the concert.
Below, Kenzie is waiting to come out on stage...
I've seen this Kenzie "dirty-look" before... it is usually directed toward me when I'm joking with her about something. I'm not sure what it was about on stage in this moment though.
The next series of four photos were pretty funny... Kenzie has always had some sort of radar superpower for seeking out me with my camera even when she was a very young little girl. Well, that hasn't changed at all. Kenzie spotted me and I got direct eye contact with her...
I don't know why, but then she sort of cracked herself up!
I think she is trying to regain her composure here...
On our way back home from Cabot, Sheila, Will and I stopped at Sarducci's for dinner...
This is one of the few places that has my current favorite beer on tap... Good Measure's "Early Riser" cream ale. Unfortunately, the bar service is extremely slow at Sarducci's so I only got to have one beer and, worse yet, this one beer didn't arrive at our table until after we had finished our bread and salad! I was actually wishing I had just ordered a Coke... or, perhaps a beer and a Coke... in hindsight, I should have ordered two beers and a Coke. One thing I despise is slow bar service. And not getting my drink before any food is served is a major fail in my book.
Here is the short video...
