Lukey the Elf

Lukey and Kenzie stayed with us a month or two ago so we could do some shopping with them.  While Lukey and I were waiting for Gee and Kenzie, I shot a few photos of Lukey as he watched a Christmas movie.

I had a bunch of prints professionally printed in early December and this photo of Lukey was one of the prints.  I put it in an extra frame I had lying around for the next time Lukey was here at our house.  I wanted to see how long it took him to notice that he is an elf in the photo.

Lukey and Kenzie arrived at our house last night and the framed print was propped up on the kitchen table.  It took him about ten minutes to even notice that there was a new photo of him but he did not notice the elf ears.

Kenzie was laughing...  Gee was laughing...   Lukey still didn't notice anything odd about the photo and exclaimed, "WHAT?" in reference to all the laughing.

Another few minutes passed as he more carefully looked at the photo and he still saw nothing askew with the print so I brushed his long hair away and grabbed him by the ear and said something about him being an elf.  NOW he finally noticed his elf ear and grinned!

Here is just the photo without the mat and frame which is easier to see on a small screen...

I also have a print of Kenzie in an elf hat from the movie "Elf".  I had this printed as a 5x7 inch gallery mount on wood with a black edge.

We are now just about ready to hop on the train to Manhattan...  in the pouring rain.  The rain should stop in Manhattan by lunchtime so we'll be okay for our walks around Manhattan.  The train pulls into the new Moynihan Train Hall at Penn Station around dinnertime.  This station is about half a mile from the hotel but we'll hop on a subway train at Penn Station which will take us just a block from our hotel.  This puts us right in the middle of all the Christmas sites.

We're all looking forward to getting comfortable on the train and to start our little Christmas vacation!
