Ellie's First Christmas Concert

A couple of nights ago, we attended Ellie's first Christmas concert and it was a nice night.

After the concert, we walked in a Parade of Light...  the kids made lanterns and we walked through town behind a SD Ireland concrete truck covered in Christmas lights (quite erroneously and far too commonly referred to as a 'cee-ment truck'...  the civil engineer side of me must point out that 'concrete truck' is the correct term).  Ellie had surgery on her foot recently and was in a boot so, consequently, we lagged behind significantly in this parade through the streets.  Fortunately, a police car stayed behind us the whole way to keep traffic from hitting us.

After a night of music, Sheila and I stopped at The Whip at The Green Mountain Inn in Stowe for dinner.  We made it there just before closing.  Actually, they were cleaning up and closing before we even left the restaurant.  Dinner was delicious though!  We really should visit here more often.  Oh...  and, naturally, we had a really nice time with Ellie too!

Something else I should mention before we get to the photos is that the lighting in this cafegymatorium was quite dim and the stage lighting was nothing but blue and magenta which created some really sickly looking people on stage.  Everybody looks like a Smurf!  Just know it is the lighting making them look so unflattering and, short of shooting in black and white, there was nothing I could do about that.

Ellie is in the red sweater...

The rest of the photos are photos I thought deserved some notoriety...  there were definitely some amusing characters on stage!

Our little Parade of Light beginning to leave the school driveway...

Whitney, Ellie and Gee taking up the rear of the parade in front of a police car with blinding lights...

We had a good time with Ellie at her first concert and she seemed to enjoy herself.  It was a great first concert!
