Ellie's Dance Recital

This past Saturday, we went way out to Greensboro at the Highland Center for the Arts for our granddaughter, Ellie's, dance recital.  We found that this venue was surprisingly nice and comfortable.  It was a long drive to get there but the huge advantage is that it was very comfortable making the long drive very worthwhile!  This was immensely better than being jam-packed into a primary school gym on uncomfortable folding chairs.

Below, Sheila is purchasing a brownie in the lobby before the recital...

The seats were comfortable and there was plenty of leg room!

Here, below, is an ultra wide angle panoramic view from our seats while we were waiting for the show to begin.  Our view was great!

Before long, the show began...

These girls, below, are aged 3-5...

They are dancing to "Happy Working Song"...

Below, Ellie is finally on stage for her dance routine.  She is in a group aged 5-7 and dancing to Nan's favorite song, "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes"...

Ellie came back out on stage at the end of the show to play one of the mice in Cinderella's "Garden Scene"...

It was a really nice show!  Afterward, we met Ellie in the lobby...

On our way back home, Sheila, Will and I stopped in Stowe to catch a late dinner at The Whip in the Green Mountain Inn.  As always at this restaurant, dinner was delicious!  The prices are now a bit crazy but the meals were delicious.

Sheila had a chicken pot pie with fingerling potatoes broccoli and carrots, seen below...

I had a much-needed prime rib with fingerling potatoes, broccoli and carrots.  This was incredibly tender and mouthwateringly delicious!

Will, Sheila's dad, had the fish and chips which looked fresh and great!

Overall, it was a very nice evening and night.  It is always nice going to one of Ellie's dance recitals.  Later this week, if the weather cooperates, we plan to go to one of Ellie's baseball games.   I highly doubt the weather will cooperate though...   we've had mostly rainy days this month (almost every single day!).
