Arrival to The Inn at The Presidio

Our two Uber drivers dropped us off at the back entrance to The Inn at The Presidio.  Adam, Joi and Will had arrived quite a bit before Sheila, Sue and I so they were already there waiting when we arrived.  We were so far behind them that they were wondering if we got lost!  Actually, we purposely took a bit of circuitous site-seeing route.

Here is the front porch of this historic inn....

This inn is actually a building named "Pershing Hall" which used to be the Bachelor Officer Quarters but has been recently renovated and converted to an inn.  I am standing in the large, heavy double doors from the porch as I shot our group in the lobby...

This is the manager's desk in the front Day Room/Living Room...

Here are a few photos of General "Black Jack" Pershing hanging on the wall.  The walls throughout the Inn were adorned with historic photos and various historic items from The Presidio...

Our suites were on the top floor overlooking the installation and San Francisco Bay...

The back end of our suite overlooked the courtyard out back.  Our suite was up on the third floor as seen from the firepit in the courtyard in this photo...

This is the staircase leading up to our suites (Will and Sue had a suite next to our suite)...

The moment we arrived at The Inn we were impressed with the staff.  We had arrived a little early but we were still treated like welcomed guests unlike we have experienced at other well-known hotels.  Actually, we were treated like welcomed VIP guests.  Management of this property is second to none.  We definitely made the right choice in staying on The Presidio grounds.

For me, I felt at "home" the moment we pulled onto the installation.  When we arrived at The Inn, the feeling of comfort and "home" was undeniable for me.  When we met the manager of The Inn, we all felt like dignitaries.

The manager secured our luggage while we headed out to a nearby restaurant in the old Officer's Club for lunch.  Sheila and Sue had a little bit of tequila in the form of Margaritas before our meals arrived which made them a bit more animated than usual...

...and then a little giggly...

When we arrived back at the inn, we found that our luggage had already been moved to our suites and into the closets.  This was another first for us.  We've had hotels secure our luggage when arriving early but we've never had them move the luggage to our rooms awaiting our arrival!  And, at The Inn at The Presidio, our luggage was even moved into our closets in our suites!

We knew we were in for an incredible and memorable stay in San Francisco...
