Continued Problems with Furnace

I only got about two hours of sleep last night due to furnace problems and this furnace nonsense is seriously affecting my health.  Our furnace is still not working as it should.

I nursed it all night long last night to keep the house above 60 degrees.  Then it failed to ignite again this morning, twice.  I tried bleeding the line but that produced no air.  While bleeding, it did ignite, again.  It then failed to ignite again on the next cycle...  and again...  so, sometimes it ignites, sometimes it doesn't...  sometimes it loses ignition in mid-cycle, sometimes it doesn't.

In the meantime, we've called the fuel company and they are sending someone as soon as possible at no charge.  No charge for this service helps alleviate some of the pain of this ongoing problem but this is still frustrating and nerve-racking.  My health is still quite poor so any little thing seems to trigger significant health issues setting me back in my recovery.  Stress is a known trigger.  The smell of the fuel oil also triggers my health problems.  Getting no sleep doesn't help in the least either.

Hopefully they will be here in the next couple of hours and fix/replace whatever part is now tripping up effective ignition.

EDIT:  They were not able to fix the furnace.  A part needed to be ordered and it will not be available until tomorrow.  We'll see what tomorrow brings.  At this point, after two months of ongoing furnace problems, I am not the least bit confident that this particular part will resolve our newest problem.  We'll see...

EDIT:  30 March 2023:  The service technician arrived this afternoon with the cheap part that we needed.  The furnace fired up immediately.  He then spent a little time adjusting the flame by adjusting the fuel pump.  He noticed that he wasn't getting the best burn so checked a specific contact in the transformer that measures the brightness of the flame and determined that this contact cap should be replaced.  He couldn't find one on his truck but he said he'll stop by in the morning with one.  Tomorrow is his day off so it was worth mentioning.

The good news is we have a running furnace again.
