Some Miserable Health

My health this week has been rather miserable.  I don't know if I had a stomach virus or if it was just my usual problems due to my systemic mastocytosis but this week has been pretty miserable.

I seem to always get sick after spending time with the grandchildren and we spent time with the grandchildren this past weekend.  By Monday, I was spending much of the day in the bathroom every day.  So, either I picked up a bug from the grandchildren yet again or my primary illness had crashed my overall health.  Either way, this week has been rather miserable.

I guess this is a good indication of how lousy my health is due to my illness...  it is indistinguishable from a stomach virus that lasts for days.  This illness doesn't always cause gastrointestinal problems but it doesn't some of the time.  When this happens, the nausea is unbearable, the diarrhea is relentless, and the vomiting is really annoying.  Then combine all three of those at the same time...  it makes for a rather miserable week.

I had hoped for Sheila and me to get out for a few drinks one weekend during Christmas but it doesn't look like that will happen.  We've had things to do each weekend that kept us from having a few drinks in a bar this Christmas.  Now, we have one more weekend ahead of us before Christmas and, honestly, I don't feel like risking another health crash nor picking up some virus that's going around putting me down for Christmas week.

I'm still not back to feeling "normal" so I don't particularly feel like socializing anyway but this coming weekend would be our last chance for any holiday celebrating out in public for this season.  We've read that the flu is already four times worse than previous years.  We've read that an extreme stomach virus is going around now too.  I simply do not want to expose myself to this stuff at this point so close to Christmas.

Summer passed us by without us feeling like we've had a summer (the weather was miserably wet, I had COVID again, and my thumb was healing and throbbing due to a tablesaw accident).  Now it looks like Christmas is going to pass us by without us feeling anything resembling Christmastime.
