Some Food Photos

Image
I haven't been eating much lately because of a stomach bug and typical Systemic Mastocytosis complications due to any added cold, flu or bug. I really haven't felt like eating and quite often I find myself holding back puke. Fun.  Anyway... I did shoot some food photos recently and I thought I would share them here while I have some time. Sloppy Joes served over mashed potatoes. We had Sloppy Joes a few days ago. To be honest, I'm really not a fan of Sloppy Joes (mostly because good rolls are hard to find around these parts) but we do make them occasionally just for an easy change of pace.  After having this for dinner the other night, we had leftovers as usual... I pulled out the leftovers the following day at lunchtime... I took one look at the Sloppy Joes and I just could not stomach another one of those things! I decided to find some other use for these leftoevers. The garbage can came to mind but there wasn't much else to eat in the house at this time!

Kenzie's Weekend

Image
As I wrote in a previous blog entry, the grandkids spent the weekend at our house. Lukey was content with running trains and watching some Florida Gator and Dayton Flyer basketball. Kenzie enjoyed some Florida Gator gymnastics, baking with Gee, playing with her doll collection and even running one of Uncle Adam's diesel locomotives.   First, some photos of Kenzie making some rice crispy treats with Gee... As always, there was quite a bit of time playing a server at a pizza place...  this particular day, she was making and serving pizzas for Jimmz Pizza... "Niiiice locomotive..."

Baking Cookies With Gee

Image
After creating some artwork to send overseas to Uncle Adam, the kids jumped into making some chocolate chip cookies from scratch. First, Gee measured out each of the necessary ingredients and put them in separate bowls... then the kids added the dry ingredients together in one big bowl... then they added all the wet ingredients in another big bowl... Lukey mixed up the dry ingredients with a whisk while Kenzie mixed up the wet ingredients with a big wooden spoon... Then, they broke some eggs into separate bowls... then added each bowl to the big bowl of wet ingredients... Adding some vanilla... Little by little, they added the dry ingredients to the bowl of wet ingredients... and taking turns scooping out the dry ingredients and adding them to the big bowl of wet ingredients... Then, making nice little balls of dough... ...well... mostly nice little balls of dough... The cookies were delicious and, unlike pre-made
