Two Panoramas

Since I'm having some rather poor health this week, I've been trying to focus on improving my photography and videography. Over the past eight or nine years, I've done a lot of coursework in photography and, as a result, my photography has improved significantly over time. I just started studying videography very recently so that still needs a lot more coursework and practice. In the meantime, I have photography to help feel a bit productive on days when I'm struggling with my health.

Our time at the lake is again close upon us so this is foremost in our thoughts now. Since the lake is what we've been thinking and talking about everyday, I've been revisiting old photos from the lake.

I am sharing two panoramas here...

This first panorama was shot while I was in my kayak... I shot five handheld shots while sitting in my kayak... it was our last night at the lake this particular year. Sheila, Adam and I went for a short paddle before tying the kayaks on the roof of the car. If you look carefully, you can see a little red speck of a kayak... that is Adam... and the little yellow speck is Sheila (both about a third of the way from the right).... You can also see the sailboat on the lawn. I've always liked this view of this distinctive lake house...

This next panorama is the view from the house... I can't remember how many images make up this panorama... somewhere around five images again, I think.  This was a series of photos I shot early one morning while the lake was still smooth as glass reflecting the clear blue sky. This panorama is just one image short of a full 180 degree view. Early morning just might be my favorite time of day on the lake... very serene... calm... cool... as the lake slowly comes alive with life... I love the clarity of this panorama as well as the mirrored mountains displaying a warm glow from the early morning sun...

I'll have to dig out more photos...
